Niu Yulin,National wine judge,first level wine taster and senior winemaker.Since graduation from Northwest A&F University in 1998,he has been working in Gansu Mogao industrail development company.Now he is the chief engineer,director of the winery.
During his study in Northwest A&F University,he was influenced by Dr Li Jiming and became very interested about wine.The unique region advantages let him choose the Hexi Corridor region and Mogao winery.
In late 1990s,it's a transition period for Chinese wineries.Many wineries renovated their technology and products.The dry wines became domination.Niu Yulin said,"Mogao provided a good platform for me.Since the first day I worked here,I got involved in many important technical work,from grape planting,equipment upgrading,to new product research and development.Mogao trained me and cultivated my loyalty and passion to it."
Niu Yulin now mainly in charge of wine production.He said winemaking is like cultivating children."Wine is a very special product.It's changing during its whole life cycle.So as a winemaker,you should keep a close contact with it."

"Wu Wei is an outstanding region,that's why Mogao Pinot Noir can enjoy a good reputation in the industry.Product differentiation is very important for a winery.Mogao is the first to try icewine and pinot noir.I think it's successful."
There are as many as 20 grape varieties in Mogao vineyards.And Mogao ice wines and pinot noir,cabernet sauvigon wines as well as brandy have won many awards.In 2014,Niu Yulin was awarded winemaker of the year.
"Wu Wei was named chinese wine city,it's a chance but as a winemaker we also feel the responsibility.In recent years,imported wines had great impacts on domestic wines.So to make the good Chinese wines and strengthen the industry should be our aim as well as responsibility."
