Corney & Barrow is offering its allocation of Petrus 2014 每 the cheapest on the market.

The wine is being offered in packs of six or three bottles or individual magnums priced respectively at ㏒6,810, ㏒3,405 and ㏒2,270.
The prices are roughly the same as the 2012s were on release and slightly more expensive than the 2013 which released at roughly ㏒6,500 per six.
However, unlike many other wines from that vintage, the 2013 Petrus has gone up in price 每 now available for ㏒16,144 per case of 12. The 2014 is ㏒13,620 per dozen, the cheapest Petrus in the market.
Will Hargrove, head of fine wine at Corney & Barrow, said it was proving ※popular§ adding it was, ※always heavily over-subscribed§. He added it had been ※fresh§ but ※extrovert§ when he tasted it, ※bold rather than big§.
The note with Corney & Barrow＊s release added it was ※one of the wines of the vintage 每 of either side 每 and quite rightly, has brought the house down.§
A further tasting note added: ※Opaque ruby in colour. The nose has an almost startling vinosity, very pure and fresh and then, tripping slowly into focus, the perfumes of spice, black and red fruits and an intense camphorous richness. The palate is deceptively silken at first, very fresh again, followed by layers of densely ripe, concentrated flavours and fruits. The balance is super, the weight is in perfect harmony with the acidity with a juicy intensity to the finish. Lovely wine.§
