Bordeuax wine brand Mouton Cadet is the official wine supplier to The Open golf tournament which started yesterday and reaches a climax on Sunday.
The brand has signed a three-year deal with the tournament which is this year taking place at the famous St Andrews course in Scotland.
Mouton Cadet is already the official wine supplier to golf¡¯s European Tour and the Ryder Cup, which it marked last year with the sale of a limited edition Ryder Cup Cuv¨¦e in the top-end of the off-trade.
Hugues Lechanoine, chief executive officer of brand owner Baron Philippe de Rothschild (pictured left), said: ¡°Mouton Cadet¡¯s association with golf is a natural fit.
¡°For 85 years Mouton Cadet has been producing high quality wines to bring pleasure to consumers around the world, and since 1860 The Open has been producing a legacy of great international Champions.¡±
Michael Tate, executive director for business affairs at the R&A (right), which runs the tournament, added: ¡°The Championship is one of the world¡¯s great sporting events and enjoys a unique position in golf just as Mouton Cadet does as a wine producer.¡±
Mouton Cadet is distributed by Sogrape UK.
