Hexi Corridor region

The Hexi Corridor region mainly includes Wuwei,Zhangye,Jia Yuguan and Minqin county.Representative wineries like Mogao,Qilian,Zixuan,Guofeng and 38 degree.

Main grape varieties are Pinot Noir,Cabernet Sauvignon,Merlot,Cabernet Gernischt, Chardonnay,Semillon and Muscat.Most grapes started flowering on mid-May.Fruit setting and swelling started in early June.Some rain during flowering hasn't cause so much impact,no disease found.

Huailai Region

Huailai region,namely Huailai county in Zhangjiakou city of Hebei province.The climate in 2017 is a bit dry,some areas were hit by hail in late June.

Chateau Martin Vineyard

Representative wineries like Chateau Sungod,Amethyst Manor,Chateau Martin and Canaan Winery.Most wineries dug out their buried vines in eary April.Bud break aroung Mid-April to early May.Flowering in mid May and fruit set around early June.

Southwest Region

Southwest region refers to Sichuan and Yunnan provinces.Representative wineries like Shengoujiuzhaihong winery and Shangri-La winery in Diqing area.Vineyards located in mountainous or river valleys with high altitude.

Shangri-La Diqing vineyard

Shangri-La Diqing vineyards located between altitude 2000-2900 meters.Because of strong ultraviolet light,there is few disease.Most grapes enter berry expanding period in mid June.Because of humidity，disease should pay attention to powdery mildew and downy mildew.

Cabernet Sauvignon at altitude 2500 and 2300 meters-Diqing

Shengoujiuzhaihong winey has about 1333 hectares of vineyards, located between altitude 2200-2800 meters in Sichuan A Ba Tibetan area.Flowering started in early May and full blossom in June.

Southern part of Xinjiang

Vineyards in southern part of Xinjiang located in Yanqi,Heshuo and Korla areas.Tiansai Vineyards is the leading winery for vineyard management.

Tiansai dug out vines in March 16th,ended on April 2nd.Bud break started on April 5th,first Chardonnay,then Merlot,Syrah,Cabernet Franc,Malbec,Cabernet Sauvignon and Marselan.There was a cold temperature and forst from April 9th,lasted for 4-5 days.Flowering started on May 17th.Fruit setting started from May 27th.There was high temperature,dry weathers and strong winds during flowering,grape clusters a bit looser but no impact on yield.

Inner Mongolia

Chateau Hansen located in Wuhai city.Flowering started from May 26th to June 6th.Cabernet Sauvigon and merlot grapes showed good fruit setting.

Shanxi

Chateau Rongzi located in Xiangning county.Flowering in this year was 5-7 days earlier than last year because of few rainfall and a bit higher temperature,started from Chardonnay,Merlot,Cabernet Franc,Marselan,Italian Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon.The lower altitude began from May 24th,Higher altitude on June 15th.

Henan

In Minquan Jiuding winery,grapes flowering started from May 8th,from Pinot Noir,Chardonnay,Merlot and Chenin Blanc.Fruit setting started from May 16th.During growing season,weather was stable with little rainfall.

Qinghai

Chateau Baojialong is the first winery in Qinghai province.Flowering started on June 5th,first Chardonnay,then Cabernet Franc,Cabernet Gernischt,Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.During flowering,weather was sunny,temperature arond 16-18 degrees.

Qinhuangdao

The region was hit by two hails during flowering and fruit setting periods.Vineyards were damaged in different degree,which may casue some loss to 2017 harvest.Some wineries were severly hit,with 90% of loss.Others tried anti-hail cannons with little impact. Representative wineries like GreatWall Chateau Huaxia,Chateau bodega-langes,Chateau Renxuan,Chateau Jinshi and Shangri-La(Qinhuangdao)winery.Flowering started from mid-May.

Jiaodong peninsula

This year,Jiaodong peninsula has less rainfull.Vineyards across Penglai,Yantai and Qingdao areas all in face of drought.The grapes grow slowly,with lower furit setting and smaller berries.Winemakers are expectig a good vintage.

Penglai Treaty Port Vineyards planted many grape varieties like viognier,Grenache Noir,Muscat blanc,Merlot,Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot,syrah and Marselan.Because of drought,fruit set is less this year with smaller berries.

Flowering in Chateau Junding is normal.Merlot and Chardonnay started in Mid May.Because lacking of water,fruit set is not ideal,especially for merlot.

In Changyu Chateau Castel,Cabernet Gernischt started flowering from May 18th,fruit set May 29th.During the first half year,yantai region is very dry.But it's good for pest and disease control.Two rainfalls in June alleviate the drought in some degree.

Flowering in Chateau Taila started from May 23rd,fruit set from June 5th.Grape thinning started from June 27th.

Because of drought,grapes in Qingdao Chateau Huadog Parry grow slowly.Flowering from May 25th,fruit set June 4th.

Chateau Nine Peaks located in Qingdao Laixi area.From May to June,there was less rainfall.Flowering started at least 5-7days earlier,from Chardonnay to Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Gernischt, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.After flowering,there is still little rain and high temperature.Thought the winery have drip irrigation system,for some potential sites,winemakers did grape thinning now.

The Eastern foot of Helan Moutain

In Qingtongxia Ganchegnzi region,Merlot vines were dug out from March 28th.Petit verdot and Marselan from April 2nd.Flowering started from May 25th.In Yinchuan area,Flowering in Chateau Helan Qingxue started from May 22nd.

Chateau Baoyuandadi located in Hongsipu area.Vines dug out from April 9th-21th.Bud break started from April 21st.Flowering in end May and fruit set in early June.
