Follows the strategy of "One Belt,One Road",Xinjiang Changji government are strive to develop wine industry as reported by Changji Daily.
Based on Xinjiang Changji Wine Industry Development Planning (2015-2025)which made last year,the region aims to develop 200,000 mus (about 13333 hectares)of high standard wine grape bases,with 80 large Chateaux and 55 small-sized Chateaux.Yearly wine production can reach 130,000 kls.Now the region has 20 Chateaux,115 new chateaux will be built.
According to the natural climate conditions, it has formed 4 wine regions, Changji, Manas, Hutubi and Fukang. Now it has planted some international varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay. In the future,the region will grow more medium-early maturing varieties also introduce some new varieties like Marselan, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot, Riesling and Petit Manseng.
It will focus on cultivating some big famous brands like CITIC Guoan Niya brand,to make the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain become PGI and a well-known wine region. Recently,a group standard of wine production in northern foot of Tianshan Mountain has passed expert-evaluating,which includes requirements on origion scope,varieties,wine grapes and production process.It first set strict control index on pesticide residues and heavy metal pollutants
