From June 6th-8th,the 30th Class of OIV MSc came to Beijing and Huailai regions and visited Beijing University of Agricluture Food Science and Engineering Colledge,DIVA China, China Agricultural University grape and wine research center,Easy cellar,Jade Vineyard Beijing marketing center and Greatwall Chateau Sungod.
In Beijing University of Agricluture,Professor Li Demei gave detailed report, including history of Chinese wines, China wine regions, domestic and international market conditions and chinese wines tasting.He maily introduced Shandong penisula,Ningxia and Xinjiang regions.The group tasted eight representative Chinese wines,covers whites,reds and icewines.As an authority in China wine industry and International scholar,Professor Li's report was very informative.
In China Agricultural University, Dr.He Fei from grape and wine research center led the students visited center's mini winery,labs and cellar.The center have
advanced high-end laboratory equipments and researchers, also have cooperations with wineries in wine development and research.
As importers,DIVA China and Easy Cellars shared their wine business operations,their perspectives on China wine market.In face of strong competitions from imported wines,there's a group of investors aimed to make boutique Chinese wines,like the founder of easy cellars,Yanzhi Zhang he also invested two boutique wineries in Ningxia regions as well as the owner of Jade Valley.
In Greatwall Chateau Sungod,the students tasted their five representative wines,including sparkling,white,red and brandy.China can make world class wines,like Chateau Sungod.For most others,it's just the time.
After winery visit,the students visited Juyongguan Pass and spent weekend in Beijing to experience more Chinese culture and history.
