China¡¤Hexi Corridor 4th Organic Wine Festival Kicked Off

On August 15th,the Opening ceremony of 4th China¡¤Hexi Corridor Organic Wine Festival was held in Mogao International Ecological chateau¡¯s cultural square in Wuwei,Gansu.From 15th -18th,9 themed events,32 enterprise activities were held.
In ancient times, Wuwei was called Liangzhou.It was a key link for the Northern Silk Road,also well-known for grapes and wines.

At 8 clock in the evening,the ceremony started.Wishes from friends all over the world first appeared on the big screen.Afterwards,representatives from Wuwei grape growers,local wineries gave their speeches on the stage.From their speeches,we felt that wine industry had brought great changes to their lives.

Huo Ronggui, secretary of the Wuwei Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) noted in his speech that Wuwei was located in ¡°golden¡±zone of grape planting ,the same as Bordeaux and Burgundy.It¡¯s one of the best regions for organic wines in China even in the world.
He said,by 2016,the whole city¡¯s wine grape bases could reach 300,000 mus(20,000 hectares),wine production 200,000 kiloliters.And Wuwei would be the leading organic wine production base in China and and the top and prosperous wine city.

Wang Qi,deputy director of China Alcoholic Drinks Association said,Gansu was one of the most important wine regions since ancient times and had outstanding advantages in organic wine.Now it has cultivated many excellent brands with distinctive cultural characteristics.Gansu has set benchmark for China¡¯s characteristic wines and represent the whole industry¡¯s future development.

Liu Yuan,vice-chairman and secretary general of China Alcohol Circulation Association noted that domestic wine should make cultural,service and marketing innovations while improving wine¡¯s quality.
