China will take centre stage at the upcoming 7TH World Bulk Wine Exhibition in Amsterdam, reflecting its growing importance as a wine purchasing country.
Some of the most prominent importers in China have already confirmed their attendance to the event, which gathers major wine producers and importers in the bulk wine industry from around the world.
Bulk wine currently accounts for 38% of the global market, with China¡¯s importance continuing to grow. According to the show¡¯s organisers, China has in recent months turned toward the bulk wine market, which had been in decline last year, ¡°probably due to the ongoing economic crisis¡±. Demonstrating a return to growth, by March 2015 bulk wine sales in China had increased by 0.3% to 81.7 million litres, amounting €52.5m in value.
Around 250 winemakers from some 19 different countries are expected to attend the show this year, in what will be its seventh year. Members of the trade are invited to attend the event, which will feature tasting stations, a culinary tasting area with bulk wine paired to various foods and conferences on issues relevant to the bulk wine industry.
The World Bulk Wine Exhibition, whose new motto for this year is ¡°genuine wines, global business¡±, will be held across the weekend of the 23 and 24 of November at the Amsterdam¡¯s RAI.
