Around the topics of enology college development,wine education and Chinese wine industry development,attendees offered their good suggestions.

 

Improve teaching quality, multi-level education


Hu Wenxiao,president of Shandong grape institute said,scientific research and education is the strong support for wine industry.Southwest A&F University Enology College takes a lead in Chinese wine education and have played an important role in promoting the industry.But there is still a gap between Chinese wine industry and International wine industry.So it¡¯s vital to improve teaching quality and cultivate more talents.

 

Xi Dezhi, Party Secretary of China GreatWall Wine Company said,improve the quality of teachers was an important approach to improve teaching quality.We should control wine educators strictly.

 

Chao Wuji,President of Chinese Society for Viticulture,professor of Beijing University of Agriculture noted that,Chinese wine education should focus on multi-level education.Wine industry needs different levels of talents.

 

Orientation training is a viable way

Wine industry is a special industry.It has higher requirements for growers and winemakers.Wang Fengyu from Chateau Helan Qingxue said,winemakers also need to study viticulture.But conditions in grape base are usually very hard.We need college students,especially those hardworking students who would like to work in grape base.He wished that Enology College can cultivate such students for the industry and assign more students to do internship in Ningxia wineries,especially students from the countryside.

 

Wang Hua,president of Enology College said,the college won¡¯t expand enrollment,still keep 4 classes with 120 students.She noted that,Orientation training was an effective teaching mode.Wineries can select some local staffs for orientation training,first study in university for two years then back to work in the winery.

President Hu Wenxiao noted that,most of our grape varieties were introduced from abroad,as well as yeasts,oaks.He wished that the college can cultivate our own grape varieties.

 

Professor Chao Wuji said,Chinese wine industry were blindly follow France,US,Australia and other wine countries but seldom study what kind of wines Chinese consumers really like. In many important occasions,we still use imported wines for reception.We still import large volume of imported wines,but export a little.

 

Unity is strength

 

Zhang Yuzhong,one of the launchers of Enology College noted that,when we promoting our enterprises and products,we should have a sense of global consciousness to promote our regions or country.

 

Professor Chao Wuji also said that Chinese wine industry need to strengthen unity.While competing,we also need cooperation and unity.

 

In line with international standards

 

In 2013,China has become the 5th largest wine consumptioncountries. Globalization is becoming more and more obvious in wine education and business. Jim Sun, chief editor of winechina.com said, Chinese wine eduction should go in line with  international standards, pay close attention to world¡¯s new technologies, winemaking, and concepts, like biodynamics and consider how to include these new things into teaching.

 

China has become an important wine producing country, so wine export is available.To cultivate international talents is a must.We should do more research in international wine trade,wine laws and study wine trends in different countries.
