The 2015 wines from Bordeaux's crus bourgeois chateaux will be available to sample at the eighth London Trade Tasting this week.
Taking place on 21 September at The British Academy, the tasting will feature 189 wines -out of the 271 that have been designated crus bourgeois for the 2015 vintage).
Widely recognised as a great year in Bordeaux, the crus bourgeois estates across the Medoc, Haut-Medoc, Listrac-Medoc, Moulis, Margaux, Pauillac and Saint Estephe, produced some 32 million bottles between them in 2015 -around 31% of the Medoc's entire production.
Olivier Cuvelier, president of the Alliance des Crus Bourgeois du Medoc, commented: "2015 is recognised to be the best vintage since 2010. Weather conditions were ideal for the ripening of the grapes. After a hot, dry July, August was more temperate, with a little rain, enabling the grapes to ripen slowly while also retaining theirfreshness.
"Furthermore, thanks to the vineyards'location on superb terroirs, and the rigorous quality process in which the wines are selected in blind tastings every year, the Crus Bourgeois du Medoc are always able to uphold their promise of guaranteeing quality at accessible prices."
The tasting will be held from 10am to 5pm at The British Academy on Carlton Terrace.
