2015 Xinjiang wine industry international summit as well as 2nd China¡¤Xinjiang wine technology forum was held in Urumqi on August 14th. On the forum,wine industry experts,scholars from home and abroad discussed how to improve xinjiang wine industry on several aspects like grapes growing,production,delivery,publicity,brand construction.
Currently,Xinjiang has about 36666.67 hectares of wine grape bases£¬among which 23333.33 hectares starts bearing fruts,with production of 240,000 tons.It accouts for 1/4 of the national wine grape area.Average yield is 350-400 kilo per mu in 2014.Xinjiang is China's largest grape planting area and wine production region also the most potential region for wine industry.
The main grape vareity is Cabernet Sauvignon,others are Merlot,Chardonnay,Yan 73,Italian Riesling,Pinot Noir,and Gamay.
There are 95 wine production enterprises,mainly in northern slope of Tianshan Mountains,Yanqi Basin,Turpan,Hami and Yili.67 wineries has get QS certification.
In 2014,the whole Xinjiang bulk wine production is 180,000 tons,bottled wines 55,000 tons.Wine brands like Changyu,GreatWall has 10,000 hectares of wine grape bases.
Accoring to 2015 Xinjiang wine industry development implementation plan made by autonomous region's department of commerce,it aims to marketing Xinjiang wines into China's 20 large cities,let Xinjiang be China's most potential region for future wine industry development and Asia's largest wine industrial park.
