¡°Fine grape wine poured out in crystal cups; the horseback minstrels urge us to imbibe¡±,the lines from the poem of Liangzhou. Liangzhou now is called Wuwei in Gansu.
Gansu has a long history for grape planting and processing.Now,grape vineyards have reached to 140,000mus,output at 120,000 tons. There are seven leading wineries,including Maogao, Qilian, Zixuan, Guofeng, Huangtai, Gansu Weilong and Yangguan. Annual production can reach 33,000 tons, with sales revenue over 800 million yuans.
In the future, wine industry association will carry out more science and technology exchanges,wine promotions,organize technical trainings, introduce and select some good wine grapes,develop Gansu wine culture and promote Gansu wine brands.
